How to prevent the council from refusing your bins 

Local Councils may refuse to empty your bin if certain rules are not followed

Here's how to help ensure your bin is collected.

Use the Correct Bin

  • Check which waste goes in each bin

  • Don't put recyclables in the general waste bin

Don't Overfill Your Bin

  • Lid must be fully closed

  • Remove excess waste or use a private collection

  • Put it out by 6 am on collection day

  • Ensure it's at the kerbside
